Round 3

Right - here I am at the end of round 3 of Jan's doily.

I'm going to admit that I'm really enjoying this challenge after all those years of resisting doing 'another doily'.

It reminds me of one I did some time ago (a smaller doily) which you can see here. Obviously it's nowhere near the same but I think it's the clovers that remind me of this one.

I'm still using the beads and resisting picots and am really pleased with it so far.

This is going to be beautiful - lovely fresh colours. Doilies are my favourite projects to tat, and I'm always sad when I finish one. I tat so slowly, that a doily will be part of my life for a very long time, so that I miss it when it's done. Then I have to go through all the palaver of choosing something new - which takes almost as long as the doily.

The colors you are using are so soft and pretty!

With you using these soft pretty colours....does this mean you have turned a corner and are giving up the idea of roping me to a chair to shuttle tat? If so, peace out and stay mellow!!

Just trying to lull you into a false sense of security, dear Kelly!!!!! You don't think I'm giving up on you that easily, do you?

That's true, God's Kid. It does.

It's only taken me about fifty years to decide on my second large doily project, Maureen!!!!!

I love your choices of colors so far and the use of the beads. Notice that you put some on the joining picots. Still have not started since I'm super busy with the school holidays (which will be over this weekend).

I have always loved doilies but could not find a pattern that is 'big' enough and simple like this. I'm so glad I've stumbled on this since I have been MIA in the tatting blogsphere.

But I like yours too in white. Now debating to go solid color or white.
